How to: Change the display to 256 colors or other.
Select 'Control Panel', select 'Display', and click the 'Settings' tab to change the Color Palette.
1) Do one of the following to open the 'Display' icon:
a) Use the 'Start' menu:
1] Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2] Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3] Double-click the 'Display' icon. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
b) Display the desktop pop-up menu:
1] Right-click on any empty area of the desktop. (A pop-up menu appears.)
2] Select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
2) Click the 'Settings' tab.
3) Select '256 Color' from the 'Color Palette' drop-down list box.
4) Click 'Apply'. (A 'Systems Setting Change' dialog box appears, prompting as to whether to restart the computer. The computer must be restarted for settings to take effect.)
5) Click 'Yes' to enable settings immediately or 'No' to enable changes the next time the computer is started.
